Week 20--HALF WAY THERE!!!

I have 136 days left!

Baby girl is the size of a banana!
How far along?  20 Weeks
Total weight gain? About 11 pounds (I don't have a scale, so I'm actually not
positive on this.)
Maternity clothes? I haven't purchased any, but I love the ones that were loaned to me. So comfy!
Stretch Marks? No.
Best moment this week? Finding our apartment that we'll be living in when the baby comes!
Miss anything? I miss not being able to eat a lot in one sitting. I have to eat lots of tiny meals.
Movement? Yes! So much kicking and moving! I love it! I can't wait
for Chris to be able to feel it.
Food Cravings: I'm starting to want sweets more now, namely zebra cakes. But I still
want anything spicy. Buffalo wings, spicy chicken nuggets, etc.
Anything making you sick or queasy? Not really.
Worst symptom: Indigestion! It sucks so bad.
Labor signs: Not yet.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? "Moody." says my husband.
Looking forward to: Registering for baby stuff.

Little girl is the size of a banana this week and about 10.5 oz! She is just growing and growing! I have loved feeling her move more and more. I can't even describe the feeling. It's almost like little bubbles but I can totally tell that it's baby and not normal tummy bubbles.

We toured the birthing center today and I love it! The birthing suite is so cozy. It looks like a home and not like a hospital at all. The bed is big enough for mommy, daddy and baby to snuggle and they never take baby away from you.

My biggest concern was complications that would cause me to be transfered to the hospital in an emergency situation. They said that there are two main reasons that women transfer to the hospital, 1) They want an epidural 2) They are getting too tired pushing and won't progress. Both of these situation aren't emergency and there is no rush to get to the hospital. The midwife assured me that two of the biggest complications (mom hemorrhaging or baby not breathing) they have the equipment to take care of it at the birthing center.

We've been praying a lot about it and I feel really good about our decision to birth there. Our next step is to find out whether our insurance will cover any of it. (If not, it's pretty inexpensive).

I've been researching doulas  and trying to decide whether I want one or not. So I'll keep you updated on that one.

The next step in baby preparations is registering for baby gifts. I'm so excited to be a mom!!!

Best moment this week? My family oohing and ahhing over my teeny baby bump.
Miss anything? I miss not feeling so big when I try on clothes.

Food Cravings: Still hot wings. Send some my way!
Anything making you sick or queasy? Mostly just oranges.
Worst symptom: My back has been especially sore lately and I don't
love the round ligament pains.
Labor signs: Still a ways off.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? "Mostly happy," says my husband.
Looking forward to: Touring BellaNatal birthing center to see if it's the right place for us!

This was by far my most favorite week of being pregnant (besides the day we found out the gender)! Christopher and I were in Oklahoma all week visiting family and it was so fun to see everyone. It was the perfect trip right after we got back from Hawaii. The newest addition to our family, my niece Grace Anna, was getting blessed. I loved getting to play with her and imagine playing with our own baby girl.

I also got my first outfits for baby girl!

The first is from my sister, Jessica and the other two were in baby girl's easter basket from my sister-in-law, Kensie.

Then Kensie gave me a ton of maternity clothes that I am so excited to wear. I just need to be a little bigger and I'll basically have a brand new wardrobe. I'm so grateful for her! I probably won't have to buy any new clothes. Now whether I buy any or not is another story.

Kensie was also kind enough to take a few maternity photos for me since she's an awesome photographer, even though my baby bump isn't so big yet. You can see her incredible newborn and senior photography here.

We're headed back to Utah tomorrow and I'm so excited to find where we'll be living for the next while.
