Week 20--HALF WAY THERE!!!

I have 136 days left!

Baby girl is the size of a banana!
How far along?  20 Weeks
Total weight gain? About 11 pounds (I don't have a scale, so I'm actually not
positive on this.)
Maternity clothes? I haven't purchased any, but I love the ones that were loaned to me. So comfy!
Stretch Marks? No.
Best moment this week? Finding our apartment that we'll be living in when the baby comes!
Miss anything? I miss not being able to eat a lot in one sitting. I have to eat lots of tiny meals.
Movement? Yes! So much kicking and moving! I love it! I can't wait
for Chris to be able to feel it.
Food Cravings: I'm starting to want sweets more now, namely zebra cakes. But I still
want anything spicy. Buffalo wings, spicy chicken nuggets, etc.
Anything making you sick or queasy? Not really.
Worst symptom: Indigestion! It sucks so bad.
Labor signs: Not yet.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? "Moody." says my husband.
Looking forward to: Registering for baby stuff.

Little girl is the size of a banana this week and about 10.5 oz! She is just growing and growing! I have loved feeling her move more and more. I can't even describe the feeling. It's almost like little bubbles but I can totally tell that it's baby and not normal tummy bubbles.

We toured the birthing center today and I love it! The birthing suite is so cozy. It looks like a home and not like a hospital at all. The bed is big enough for mommy, daddy and baby to snuggle and they never take baby away from you.

My biggest concern was complications that would cause me to be transfered to the hospital in an emergency situation. They said that there are two main reasons that women transfer to the hospital, 1) They want an epidural 2) They are getting too tired pushing and won't progress. Both of these situation aren't emergency and there is no rush to get to the hospital. The midwife assured me that two of the biggest complications (mom hemorrhaging or baby not breathing) they have the equipment to take care of it at the birthing center.

We've been praying a lot about it and I feel really good about our decision to birth there. Our next step is to find out whether our insurance will cover any of it. (If not, it's pretty inexpensive).

I've been researching doulas  and trying to decide whether I want one or not. So I'll keep you updated on that one.

The next step in baby preparations is registering for baby gifts. I'm so excited to be a mom!!!

Week 19

Courtesy Kensie M Photography

How far along?  19 Weeks
Total weight gain? About 11 pounds
Maternity clothes? In the picture I'm wearing maternity jeans that my Sister-in-law loaned me. I haven't bought any yet though.
Stretch Marks? No.
Best moment this week? My family oohing and ahhing over my teeny baby bump.
Miss anything? I miss not feeling so big when I try on clothes.
Movement? Yes! I am positive that I have felt some sort of flutterings.
Food Cravings: Still hot wings. Send some my way!
Anything making you sick or queasy? Mostly just oranges.
Worst symptom: My back has been especially sore lately and I don't
love the round ligament pains.
Labor signs: Still a ways off.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? "Mostly happy," says my husband.
Looking forward to: Touring BellaNatal birthing center to see if it's the right place for us!

This was by far my most favorite week of being pregnant (besides the day we found out the gender)! Christopher and I were in Oklahoma all week visiting family and it was so fun to see everyone. It was the perfect trip right after we got back from Hawaii. The newest addition to our family, my niece Grace Anna, was getting blessed. I loved getting to play with her and imagine playing with our own baby girl.

I also got my first outfits for baby girl!

The first is from my sister, Jessica and the other two were in baby girl's easter basket from my sister-in-law, Kensie.

Then Kensie gave me a ton of maternity clothes that I am so excited to wear. I just need to be a little bigger and I'll basically have a brand new wardrobe. I'm so grateful for her! I probably won't have to buy any new clothes. Now whether I buy any or not is another story.

Kensie was also kind enough to take a few maternity photos for me since she's an awesome photographer, even though my baby bump isn't so big yet. You can see her incredible newborn and senior photography here.

We're headed back to Utah tomorrow and I'm so excited to find where we'll be living for the next while.

Week 18

How far along?  18 Weeks
Total weight gain? About 8 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope.
Stretch Marks? No.
Best moment this week? Finding out the gender and getting to see cute
pictures on the ultra sound.
Miss anything? You know, not really.
Movement? Yes! I am positive that I have felt some sort of flutterings.
Food Cravings: Spicy buffalo wings. I want them 24 hours a day,
for any meal of the day. Always.
Anything making you sick or queasy? Mostly just oranges.
Worst symptom: The awkwardness of not being able to lay on my belly.
Labor signs: Still a ways off.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? "More so happy probably," says my husband.
Looking forward to: Seeing my family and my cute new niece soon.

Sorry, this post is a little belated. It's been a hectic week. We moved from Hawaii on Monday night, got to Utah Tuesday morning and then left for Oklahoma this morning (Wednesday). This chilly weather is not being nice with my Hawaii wardrobe and Hawaiian adjusted temperatures.

On a side note, I have been feeling especially fat lately and that I just look large and not pregnant at all. But today a man in the airport congratulated me on my pregnancy! I look pregnant for legit!! I feel much better about life now.

My belly appears to have popped out just in time for our last Sunday at church before we moved. Everyone was coming up and congratulating me as they said goodbye.

I still haven't bought any baby clothes since finding out that we're having a little baby girl. (With all the travelling and tight packing and whatnot). But I'm really excited to do so. I don't want to buy a ton of stuff until after our baby shower (when/if we have one) but I think it's a right of passage and makes the whole baby thing seem that much more real. As if all the vomiting, indigestion, food aversion and gaining weight weren't real enough.

I guess it makes more sense to buy more baby stuff when we actually have an apartment. We're sort of homeless right now. But all in good time. I've got family to visit!

17 Weeks

How far along?  17 Weeks
Total weight gain? About 5 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope.
Stretch Marks? No.
Best moment this week? My husband letting me leave work for a donut run
Miss anything? I miss not feeling bloated...which is basically how this feels.
Movement? I wish, but no.
Food Cravings: I had a random hankering for donuts on Wednesday.
So I went and bought 5, and ate 4 of them. #fatty
Anything making you sick or queasy? Random things set me off. Today
it was Christopher's potatoes (even though I ate the same thing yesterday).
Worst symptom: The awkwardness of not being able to lay on my belly.
Labor signs: Still a ways off.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? "A little moody," says my husband Christopher.
Looking forward to: WE FIND OUT THE GENDER IN TWO DAYS!!!

Alright humans, the gender knowledge is fast approaching which means if you haven't already voted on what the gender will be..do it now!!! (Left side of the page at the top.) If you want me to know your vote so you can do a victory dance when you're right, gimme some comment love and let me know what you think it will be.

Little babylang is 6 inches this week, about the length of a grapefruit, and weighs about 5 oz. I'm so excited to see my little baby on the ultra sound again. If my research serves me right, it will actually look like a baby now (but the blob was cute).

So stay tuned because in just a few days I'll post an exciting gender reveal!

Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm pretty moody.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender.

People keep commenting on how small I look which makes me sad because I want to start looking pregnant and not like I really like cake (which I do but people shouldn't be able to tell that easily).

Little baby is growing and growing though. It is the size of an apple, about 4 inches and 2.5 ounces. It can sense light (even though it's little eyelids are fused shut) and it's growing little tastebuds.

According to my pregnancy app I might start to feel movement within the next week!!! So excited to meet my little human!

Week 14

There's a little bump!!

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: About 4 pounds

Maternity clothes? Not yet!
Stretch marks? Thankfully no.
Best moment this week: Baby is coming with us on our very belated honeymoon!
Miss anything: At this point I miss my appetite.
Movement: Not that I can feel.
Food cravings: Pizza!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Oranges, also the fridge...
Worst symptom: Peeing every 5 minutes or so is getting a little old.
Have you started to show yet: Just a little.

  Gender: I don't know yet!
Labor Signs: Thankfully no.

Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: A mix. (See below).
Looking forward to: Actually looking pregnant!

That's a pic of me at work when I was feeling extra huge (so please excuse the
traffic cone orange shirt). BabyLang is the size of a large lemon this week, head
to bottom it's 3 and a half inches! It's getting all kinds of facial developments: it
can squint, frown, and grimace and may be sucking it's thumb. (So cute!)

In other news, jeans are no longer comfortable at all. I can still button the button,
but I hate wearing anything so restricting. I've done the "rubberband in the button
hole" thing but I'm not quite big enough for that, so basically if I wear jeans, they're
unbuttoned and I wear a long shirt so (hopefully) no one can tell.

Also I basically live in the bathroom which sucks. My daily exercise is walking
back and forth to the bathroom approximately 85 times a day.
I still get queasy but I haven't thrown up in about a week!! (That's a lie, I threw
up yesterday. But other than that it was like a week which was HUGE!)

As far as mood goes, Chris says that he can't wait for the baby to come so
'nice Jocelyn' can come back. I sort of hate people a little right now. But I can
 be happy too (*Sheepish grin).

I'm in my second trimester so according to all the pregnancy literature I've
seen, I should start feeling awesome any second now...

Now I need to go pack because Chris and I are FINALLY going on our
honeymoon. (After 2 years and  10 months of marriage, it's about time!)
I guess living in Hawaii just gave us the perfect opportunity.
